My plan to start early up the Acropolis paid off. I entered at 8:15 AM, just after it opened, and there were very few people around. When I left about two hours later, massive tour groups were flooding in. After the Acropolis, I climbed Filopapou Hill, then went to the Roman Agora and Hadrian’s library. I had humous and roasted veggies on toast, a cinnamon bun and a coffee at a place called the Underdog, then came back to my hotel for a beer on the balcony while baking in the sun, plus a little snooze. Then it was up Athens highest hill, Lykavittos for the view. Back again to the hotel via the botanical gardens. 24,594 steps. The plan now is to shower and go eat and see if I can find some live music.
